Format: Promo
Platform: TV
Region: CEE, Nordics
Project brief:
WHO are we targeting?
A curious audience who enjoy being shocked and surprised by dumfounding natural phenomena, and then discovering the incredible scientific reasoning behind them. A younger audience could be attracted by this fast paced, often humorous style and always intriguing and surprising stories.
WHAT do we want to communicate?
We live in a weird and wonderful world. Everyday we discover new things, from the surprising to the shocking to the scary. Curious creatures, extraordinary people, logic defying weather, unfathomable geological occurrences and bizarre behaviour. Through a selection of first-hand footage and eye-witness testimony we discover these moments of wonder – a transparent blob the size of an elephant under the water, a man who has skin that any object will stick to like Velcro, a flying goat, a river of ice in the desert and vampires on lakes in America. We then turn detective and with a team of scientists and experts, put these wonders under a microscope. We do the research, test the evidence and ultimately work out what on Earth is going on.This is fast-paced, fun, shocking but also enlightening TV that presents the extraordinary before bringing it back down to earth with science and logic, that ultimately actually makes nature even more amazing.
WHY are we doing it?
Viasat Nature is not just dedicated to bringing the beauty of the natural world directly to our viewers’ homes, but also aspires to educate and enlighten with the incredible scientific reasoning behind the things that make our world both weird and wonderful. This show highlights a selection of amazing, astounding and seemingly unexplainable features and occurrences, then follows them up with scientific explanations that will illuminate and amaze.
